Health & Social Care ESOL
Employability
This Health & Social Care ESOL course, funded by ASF / UKPSF through North Lincolnshire Council, is designed to support ESOL learners interested in working in health or social care settings. Delivered in partnership with NOCN, the course combines English language development with sector-specific vocabulary, communication skills, and employability knowledge needed for progression into training or employment. A dedicated Job Coach is available to support progression into work or further learning.

OBJECTIVES
Course Objectives & Outcomes
Communicate confidently in health and social care settings
Develop speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills to communicate effectively with service users, colleagues, and supervisors.
Use health and social care–specific language and terminology
Learn key vocabulary and phrases used in care settings, including personal care, wellbeing, routines, and safeguarding language.
Understand workplace expectations and professional standards
Build knowledge of professional behaviour, confidentiality, health and safety, and safeguarding within care environments.
Develop practical employability and care-related skills
Apply English and employability skills to real-life care scenarios, including following care plans, recording information, and working as part of a team.
Build confidence for progression into care roles
Increase confidence to progress into further training, volunteering, or employment within health and social care settings.
Progress towards recognised qualifications and employment
Prepare for progression into health and social care–related courses or employment, with personalised support from tutors and a Job Coach.
